Fight Directing

I strongly believe that Fight Directing, whatever the medium, is an artistic endeavour. Fight Directors should not be merely technicians of violence. They (we) need to acknowledge the creative input of the performers, we need to understand what the violence is for in each scene. In my work I try to combine the role of director and dramaturg, with that of a facilitator to realise and honour the actors' creative impulses.
